Summary of the The Author's POV
The world keeps spinning around its main character hero types – you know, the ones who leap tall buildings, fall in love tragically with multiple strong female leads, and generally make things happen? Yeah, that guy. He gets all the glory and the drama.
But my last rodeo ended pretty badly, I gotta admit. One near-death experience was kinda enough for me, thanks. The whole "chosen one" thing felt like a giant magnet pointing towards trouble, especially since everything explosive seems glued to heroes these days. Monsters? Check. Villains? Double-check! World ending crises? *Definitely* check.
So yeah, when I got the chance to… you know, restart or something, I thought hallelujah, maybe this time it’s different. Maybe I get a fresh start, finally playing an important role in my own narrative without all that messy baggage?
Wrong again, maybe even worse than before. Apparently, being reborn isn't just about swapping identities; it's about getting the absolute *opposite* of hero material.
Turns out, I'm not special. Not destined. No hidden plot armor or secret skills lying dormant. And definitely no hot pursuit from a harem subplot (phew!).
Okay, so basically… I’m background noise. A nobody in the crowd. Just existing, quietly sipping tea while the protagonist does their thing – saving kingdoms and wooing damsels.
And honestly? After what I’ve been through, blending into the wallpaper sounds pretty damn good right now.
Which is maybe why "The Author's POV" ended up being a bit of an ironic title for my circumstances.
